Studio Tour A Success!

"Morning at the Market"
$149.00
SOLD!

Thank you to all of you who came to visit me during my studio tour on saturday even with the threat of Hurricane Sandy looming.  I think it was quite successful as I sold 5 paintings.  Morning at the Market sold to my next door neighbor so I know it went to a good home.  I had so much fun with my studio open to guests while I worked on my large zebra painting.  Wait till you see it!  I will post it as soon as I finish.  Just ordered a bunch more notecards as I almost sold out during the studio tour.  You will be able to buy those at my Ft. Smith Show coming up in December.  Hope everyone stays safe & sound during this hurricane.

Kenyan Giraffe

"Kenyan Giraffe"
8 x 8 On Canvas Board
Oil
$128.00
© 2012 by Rebecca Croft

If you would like to purchase this cute Giraffe painting you can through my Etsy Store:

It's painted on Canvas Board so slides easily into a photo frame.  The third in my Safari Series.  I just loved watching the giraffes as they ate from the tops of the trees and played with each other.  We usually saw them in groups.  This was the one animal that we did not see a baby of while in the Masai Mara.

On another note my studio will be open this saturday from 10am -5pm for anyone that wants to drop by.  It's in my home 4460 N. 38th Street, Arlington, VA 22207.  It's part of the Arlington Artist Alliance Studio Tour that takes place this saturday & sunday.  Here is a link to the information and map:  http://www.arlingtonartistsalliance.org/upcomingevents.html#tour

Hope you can stop by my studio on saturday!  I have notecards, small paintings, and many other lovely items that would make great Christmas gifts.  There are 13 other artists participating with lovely paintings & pottery so get some early holiday shopping out of the way.

If you would like to purchase you can by it from my Etsy Store:

Here is the first landscape of my Safari series.  This is the spot where we stopped for a picnic breakfast after a 3 hour drive.  It was absolutely beautiful.  We were enjoying the lovely day and good food when a pride of lions approached and we had to pack it all up and hop back into the Range Rover!

This is the beginning of my "African Safari" series!  I'm so excited to get started painting all of the beautiful animals that I was so fortunate to encounter on my safari in Kenya this summer.  They were all so beautiful.  The elephants are so graceful and loving with their young.  I decided to paint this "Mamma" in purples & pinks just for fun.  Stay tuned for many more colorful African paintings.

Also, I will have my studio open for touring and even purchasing paintings, cards, or shrink wraps for your Christmas shopping on Saturday, October 27th from 10am - 5pm.  Please stop by and see what I've been working on and say hello.  Make sure to bring your friends.  I will also have a brochure with maps for 13 other Arlington Artists Studios that you can tour that weekend.

I know I have been remiss in posting on the blog but I've also been remiss in painting!  It's been a busy beginning of the school year for me.  My daughter started college and I had a few busy weeks with my part time event planning job.  I'm finally getting back into the studio and plan to begin painting an African Series from my photographs of my Kenya Safari that I took this summer.  This will probably be my last beach posting until next spring.  Look for my Safari paintings soon!
