The Little Red Boat

"The Little Red Boat"
© 2012 Rebecca Croft
8 x 10
$99.00

If you would like to purchase this painting it is available on my Etsy Store at the following link:

Plein Air painting can be really fun and sometimes not.  I painted this outside on a very cold spring day at the marina in Alexandria.  It was a cold, windy day and my hands were freezing but I was determined to get a painting done!  One time I was taking a plein air class and it was during the 17 year locust season so I had to share my easel & palette with them.  I touched this one up in the studio to make it brighter.

Can you see my central theme lately?  Yep.  I want to be at the beach!  I'm heading there this weekend to attend an Art Marketing workshop.  I'm hoping to learn some new information that will help me sell, sell, sell!  I'm doing pretty well on Etsy.  I've sold 9 paintings in the last 5 weeks!  Thanks to all of my fans.  Drop me a comment if there is a subject that you would like me to paint.  I'm always looking for inspiration.

$149.00

Today was another dismal rainy day.  The weather has turned cold but I refuse to let it rain on my painting parade.  I'm continuing with my bright palette and with my spring/summer collection.  I sold two more paintings today on Etsy!  Yeah.  That always puts me in a great mood.  Got some of my new furniture delivered.  I love changing things in my nest.  Something about spring always makes me want to change everything.  So all in all not a bad Monday.

$59.00

You can purchase this painting from my Etsy Store just click on the link:

Spring has definitely sprung and I am in full flower painting mode!  I always think of Holland and tulips in the spring because it reminds me of a trip I took when I was a kid to the beautiful gardens in Holland called the Keukenhof.  Thousands of acres of gorgeous tulips.  Spring is my favorite season and tulips are my favorite flower.  Everything is new again.  Right now I'm sitting outside working my garage sale and people are so funny - some just want things for free!

Lavender Fields

"Lavender Fields"
11 x 14
$149.00

You can purchase this painting from my Etsy Store:

I guess I just as well admit it that I am probably only going to get around to blogging once maybe twice per week.  I can't keep up with my painting!  It was a busy week with stuff going on with my house and then a visit to William & Mary with my daughter who will attend there next fall.  I'm exhausted.  But I did manage to paint a couple of new paintings.  I love France and Lavender fields just call to me for some reason - probably because purple is my absolute favorite color.  I sold two similar paintings a couple of weeks ago so decided to paint another.  Tomorrow is going to be beautiful so I'm going to paint Plein Air in a friends garden.  I'll keep you posted if any good paintings come out of that session.

Spring break is over but that doesn't mean I can't still enjoy it by painting with spring colors and flowers!  Someone else liked this one as it sold on my Etsy store in a week!  So excited that I'm starting to sell my little french paintings.  They are my favorite of the new ones.  If you like this one I can always paint another for you very similar to this one.

I'm still playing with my new colors and I decided to use my lovely favorite colors to create this landscape.  I think it's a bit "Monet".  It reminds me of some of Monet's water lilies paintings with these colors.  I'm at Bethany Beach for spring break.  It's been cold & windy but today was beautiful.  I'm inspired to paint more summer beach paintings.  I will be back at my easel on thursday.  Getting lot's of inspiration while here!
