Another French painting gone.  It was shipped to California to reside in a lovely home.  Whenever I paint lavender fields it reminds me of my trips to Provence.  Painting keeps the memories of my travels alive.  It's almost as good as experiencing the trip again.  This summer I will be traveling to Italy again as my daughter is doing a semester in Florence.  I'll have to do a series on Tuscany and the  Amalfi coast this summer!

This wonderful palette knife painting of the curious cow sold at Cassatt's Cafe in Arlington this week.  This is one of my whimsical paintings.  I have a serious soft spot for cows as I think they are so cute.  I always have fun painting them and they seem to sell well.  I went back up to Cassatt's and hung a new painting today.  I'm kind of in a spring painting mode and have been doing flowers.  Today I painted The Jefferson Memorial with the cherry blossoms.  This weekend is peak cherry blossom time in Washington, D.C. so I've been in the mood to paint them!  Let's hope the weather is nice so we can enjoy them.

"Cloudy Skies"

Today was a cloudy day so I decided to paint a sky with big clouds.  When I'm inside I like to look at landscape paintings and imagine myself there.  I think that's why I don't get so excited about other types of paintings as I do landscapes.  I like to paint places that I've visited and then there are wonderful memories.  Hope you like it.
