Somehow no matter what I paint or what workshops I take I always come back to my favorite - landscapes.  There is something about creating nature on a canvas that really draws me in.  I've been diligent about painting everyday for the past few weeks and I do think you can tell by my new paintings that I'm really enjoying it.  I love skies & water!  I hope you like this one as much as I do.

I painted this in 2012.  So glad that it FINALLY SOLD!  I've been on a roll the past week and have now sold 6 paintings.  I'm really loving it.  Nothing motivates my creative juices like selling my artwork.  I've been painting everyday.  Like anything else.  The more you do it the better you get.  I feel like I've created some great new paintings.  Stay tuned and you'll be seeing them.

Also, mark your calendars for the last weekend of October.  This is the weekend that I will be opening my studio on Saturday, Oct 26th for visitors.  I'll be part of the Arlington Artist Alliance 3rd Annual Gallery Tour.  You can visit over 15 artists galleries and view their work for sale.  This would be a great time to purchase some Christmas gifts early!

Another sale on Etsy.  It's been a good few days for sales.  Interestingly, this painting sold to a woman in Connecticut on Wednesday and the smaller 8 x 10 version of this painting sold to a man in Georgia on sunday.  I painted both about 6 months ago and then they both sell the same week to different people.  I'm getting back my groove.  I painted a really nice landscape today.  Keep watching.

I painted this on canvas board so it can be popped into any photo frame easily or put on an easel tabletop.  I'm still dreaming about all of that wonderful wine I drank in France this summer.  I came across this close up of some grapes in a vineyard we toured and I had to paint them.  Aren't they scrumptious!  They look good enough to eat...... or make wine!  A lovely painting for any art collector. Remember art makes a great original gift.  Do you know a wine lover?  This would be perfect for a study, den, or kitchen.

I'm still finding inspiration from my trip to Italy two summers ago.  Every time I paint from one of my photos it takes me back to that time and place.  It was magical to spend almost two weeks in Lake Como, Venice, and Tuscany.  If only we had the power of teleporting I could go there to paint whenever I felt like it!  I guess I'll just have to settle for my lovely photos.  That's why buying a piece of art as a memento of a trip is such a great gift because every time you look at it it will take you back there.  I know it's only the beginning of October but start thinking of your Christmas list.  Art is a great gift.
