SOLD!

On spring break at Bethany Beach.  The day started out so lovely and went for a great run but now it's turned cold and windy.  Went to our favorite sub shop for lunch.  We were so happy they opened this early in the season.  I'm regretting not bringing my paints down with me so I could paint while here.  I'll just have to enjoy myself without them!  Painted this small Provence painting about a week ago.  I'm still on my France & Italy painting jag but am starting to paint beach paintings.  Stay tuned as I'll be posting those soon!

The Tuscan Village

"The Tuscan Village"
16 x 16 Gallery Wrapped Canvas
$149.00

To Purchase:

This is one of my favorite paintings that I have painted lately.  I traveled to Italy for two weeks last July and had a fabulous time with two other couples.  Italy is magical with all of it's natural colors.  The buildings in Venice and the landscapes in Tuscany were wonderful.  I've been painting Italy ever since I returned and it makes me remember all of the fun times I had.  I can't wait to return!

Fall Savannah Mid-Day

"Fall Savannah Mid-Day"
10 x 20 Gallery Wrapped Canvas
$249.00

You'll notice that this is similar to one of my mini's that I posted before.  I liked that one so much I wanted to paint it on a larger canvas.  This makes an interesting landscape.  For some reason I always enjoy painting landscapes and I guess it's because those are the paintings that I am drawn to.  My style is constantly changing and evolving with painting and my taste changes as well.  I find that I am more drawn to the impressionist and abstract than ever before.  A new week begins tomorrow so we'll see what I create this week!

"Sunset on the Eastern Shore"
6 x 6 Canvas Board
$75.00

I am working hard at painting at least 4 days per week which I find really fun but then having to update all of them on-line is exhausting.  First photographing them and putting that on the computer.  Then adding them to my Website, Etsy Store, Blog, Pinterest, and now Tumblr!  I spend more time posting than painting.  I need a secretary!  Wouldn't it be nice if we all had assistants.  The upside is that I am learning tons about the internet.  I guess that's a good thing......

Still Waters

"Still Waters"
6 x 6 Canvas Board
$75.00

I am having so much fun using my new flat paint brush and brighter palette.  These small paintings just come out of my soul in such a loose manner that I love!  This is one of my favorites that I have created over the past couple of weeks.  I hope you enjoy it.  I am taking a trip to Kenya this summer and I expect some of the terrain to look a little like this painting.  We'll see.

The French Market

"The French Market"
11 x 14
2" Deep Gallery Wrapped Canvas
$178.00

I'm still in my "French" mood so I'm still painting French scenes.  I never get tired of painting France & Italy.  Maybe because when I paint these scenes it transports me back to the times that I have travelled there and great memories are relived.  So essentially I'm on vacation everyday when painting!  I wish!  I hope you like this one.  Make sure to check out my Etsy store as I put new paintings there almost daily.

Hope you all had a great weekend. This week in DC looks like fantastic weather so maybe I'll get outside to paint plein air.

French Provencal Doorway

"French Provencal Doorway"
6 x 8 Canvas Board
$78.00

I've not been good about blogging this week but I have been busy painting!  I think I'm getting better at my thick paint and brush strokes.  You know what they say the more you practice the better you get.  I'm reading the best book right now called "The Real Lives of Wives" and it's about women getting back to what they love in mid-life or when the nest is empty.  Many of them discuss how they gave up passions such as art or a sport they loved as they got busy being a mother/wife/career and how once the kids are gone they are re-visiting what made them happy before.  I would say painting is that passion for me.  Sometimes I can find excuses not to get into the studio but as soon as I do and I start applying the paint I am taken to a magical place.  It's almost the same feeling I get after a good long run.  It's quite euphoric.  Hope you all like what I'm creating!

This week went by so fast.  We had a glorious spring day yesterday just to tease us.  I'm still trying to paint at least every other day.  I'm going back and forth between landscapes and French & Italian Paintings.  I painted this little cutie one morning this week.  I still love this new palette of colors and I'm working on my brushwork.  I still want to get the paint even thicker!  I have a show coming up at Ft. C.F. Smith Mar 23 - 30th with the Arlington Artist Alliance.  Visit my website for more details!
