Sunset on the Vineyards

"Sunset on the Vineyards"
11 x 14
$249.00

I have always liked using a lot of color in my landscapes which is probably why I like to paint sunsets.  For some reason purple has always been my favorite color since I was a little girl.  I had to move around with the army and live in base housing so as soon as we moved into our own house when I was in high school I painted my room lavender.  My teenage daughters room is lavender now.  I even joined a sorority whose colors were purple and white.  Now I must confess that I love wine.  So combining my favorite color and my favorite drink and my favorite type of painting made this one so fun to paint.  I hope you like it.  I'm still experimenting with those new brush strokes.

The Long & Winding Road

"The Long and Winding Road"
11 x 14
$225.00

I'm working on my new brush work and decided to fall back on my favorite type of painting - "The Landscape".  I always tend to gravitate to landscapes.  I'm not sure if it's because they are my favorite types of paintings to look at or if it's because they are my favorite to paint.  I think this one turned out quite good.  My goal is to paint at least 4 times per week.  So far so good.  Once the weather gets warm enough I'll be painting outside!  Have a great weekend.

Floral Escape

"Floral Escape"
6 x 6 panel board
$75.00

I am having so much fun with this new palette of colors and playing with my new brushstrokes and textures that I'm creating.  Painting on these small boards allows me to experiment freely.  You could just pop it into a 6 x 6 inch picture frame and sit it on your desk to remind you that spring is on the way.  Sometimes it's hard to find time to paint everyday which is one of my goals but if I paint on a small canvas I can accomplish this.  Juggling family, part time work and art can be challenging but painting puts me in a great mood.  Today is my daughter's 18th birthday and I just can't believe how the time has flown.  I must paint more!

Western Sky Landscape

"A Little Piece of Heaven"
11 x 14
$225.00

I'm really working hard on perfecting this new technique of thicker paint and more textured brush strokes.  I'm trying to paint at least every other day and I feel like I'm making some headway.  I love the new color palette that I've been using since the Dreama workshop and am incorporating that into my landscapes which are my favorite paintings.  I hope you like this one.  Drop me a line and let me know.

Venetian Doorway

"Venetian Doorway"
8 x 10
$125.00

I was taking a Gondola ride in Venice this past summer and took a photo of this exquisite doorway and I just had to paint it!  It's so typical of the Italians to make everything gorgeous.  Somehow I think the colors in Europe are just more vibrant than the states.

The French Market

"The French Market"
12 x 12 Canvas Board
$175.00

Painting with this brighter palette makes me so happy.  I'm loving this impasto
technique.  It may be winter but it's spring in my heart.  I hope you enjoy this beautiful
painting of a French Flower Market.

Beach Flowers

"Beach Flowers"
6 x 8 Canvas Board
$125.00

Even though it's technically winter it's almost 60 degrees here in Arlington, VA!  I'm loving this winter but already thinking about beach times next summer so I painted this lovely beach painting.  I'm using my new brighter palette that I picked up in my Marco Island workshop with Dreama.  Hope you like this as much as I do.

"The French Window"

"The French Window"

This lovely little beauty was my second painting at the fabulous Dreama Tolle Perry workshop in Marco Island, Florida last week.  What a wonderful time we all had creating beautiful paintings in a beautiful spot!  Dreama lives up to her name for sure!  If you ever have the chance to take one of her inspiring workshops grab it.
