I got contacted by a potential customer on Etsy and she came over to my studio friday and purchased these three paintings!  It was a great day.  It was nice to actually meet one of my Etsy customers.  More new paintings to come.  They say it's going to warm up this week and I'm looking forward to it as my studio can be quite chilly when it's below freezing.

I've added credit card purchasing to my Etsy store so you don't have to have a paypal account!  Makes it even easier to buy one of my paintings.  I always tend to go back to the landscapes as they are my favorite to paint.  You can do so many different things with skies and water.  This painting reminds me of a lovely summer day.  You can just lay back and reflect on the warm glow from the sun by looking at this painting.  We need that right now since we are in an arctic freeze!  Art on your walls not only enhance your rooms but remind you of the beauty in the world or bring back memories of a place you've been or maybe of a place you would like to go.  This painting just makes me happy.  The colors are warm and it's a beautiful day. 

The Cello

My daughter's best friend has played the cello for 12 years.  I told her I would paint her a painting for her 18th birthday of anything she wanted and she requested a painting of her cello.  It only took her a year to get me photos!  But it's finally almost finished.  I'm waiting for it to dry so I can paint the strings on the cello and the music on the sheets of music.  It was really fun to do this.  I've never painted an instrument before.  I'm very pleased how it turned out!  I hope Meg enjoys it.  She's in college now but her parents are going to deliver it to her soon.  Let me know how you like this painting.

Finally, I'm getting back to a routine after the holidays.  My daughter goes back to college next week.  I hadn't painted for a month!  It's like anything else.  When you don't do it for awhile it's hard to get going again.  I'm going to try and paint almost everyday just like exercising and I'll get back into it and the juices will flow again.  This is my first attempt.  I decided to start with a landscape since those are my favorite to paint.  Of course I had to use purples & blues.  More to come soon.

Wow....  2013 is beginning with a bang!  I sold these 4 paintings on Etsy last night and today.  I'm hoping this is an omen for the New Year!  I would love to be able to paint and sell enough this year to have it be a part time job.  My goals for 2013 are to paint more, and to eat healthier.  I hope you all have made your resolutions.  I'm looking forward to this new year and hope you are too.
